Amarillo preserves its rich history with designated landmarks like the Center City Historic District along Polk Street, Route 66, Llano Cemetery, the Madame Queen locomotive, and the Texas Panhandle War Memorial in addition to extensive exhibits at the American Quarter Horse Hall of Fame and Museum and the Panhandle-Plains Historical Museum. The eclectic Cadillac Ranch, one of the world’s first roadside sculptures, features ten spray-painted Cadillacs buried nose-down in an Amarillo field off of I-40.
